This is good news for all Indians that the Government of India decided to build India’s first Electric E-Highway from Mumbai to Delhi.

Delhi to Mumbai Expressway is India’s First Electric Highway covering 5 states in its route Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. This highway reduces the travel time of Delhi to Mumbai from 24 hrs to 13 hrs.
Electric Highway in this route helps to reduce pollution as well as crude oil imports. This Delhi–Mumbai Expressway will be completed by 2023.
Recently, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that there will be a one-lane e-highway on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway being built at a cost of one lakh crore. This e-lane will be about 1300 km long. This will reduce logistics or courier costs by 70 percent.
Siemens is building the e-road in both Germany and India.
सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने बताया है कि दिल्ली-मुंबई e-Highway एक लाख करोड़ की लागत से बन रहे एक्सप्रेस वे पर एक लेन ई-हाईवे की होगी। यह ई-हाईवे लेन करीब 1300 किलोमीटर लंबी होगी। इससे लॉजिस्टिक का खर्च 70 फीसद तक कम हो जाएगा। नितिन गडकरी ने बताया है कि इन ई-हाईवे रोड पर उसी तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा, जिस तकनीक से जर्मनी में e-Highway बनाए गए हैं। जर्मनी और भारत दोनों जगहों पर Siemens ई-रोड बना रही है।
