Sarojini Naidu was born on 13 February 179 in the city of Hyderabad, India. His father Aghornath Chattopadhyay was a scholar and mother poetess. At the age of 13, she composed a poem called Lady of the Lake.
She went to England in 1895 to pursue higher education and continued to write poems along with studies. The Golden Threshold was his first poetry collection.
