Doordarshan is India’s first TV channel which launched on 15th September 1959, at the studio of All India Radio.
Krishi Darshan, Chaupaal, Doordarshan Samachar, and Kalyani were the first TV programs on the Doordarshan channel.
Doordarshan channel was renamed as a DD-1 on 9th August 1984, after the launch of its second TV channel DD-2 for urban audiences.
In the same year, DD-1 started telecast of India’s first sponsored TV serials “Hum Log” on 7 July 1984.

भारत का पहला टीवी चैनल कौन सा है?
दूरदर्शन भारत का पहला टीवी चैनल है जो 15 सितंबर 1959 को ऑल इंडिया रेडियो के स्टूडियो में लॉन्च किया गया था। कृषि दर्शन, चौपाल, दूरदर्शन समचार, और कल्याणी दूरदर्शन चैनल पर पहले टीवी कार्यक्रम थे।
शहरी दर्शकों के लिए अपने दूसरे टीवी चैनल DD-2 के लॉन्च के बाद, दूरदर्शन चैनल का 9 अगस्त 1984 को DD-1 के रूप में नाम बदल दिया गया। उसी वर्ष, डीडी -1 ने 7 जुलाई 1984 को भारत के पहले प्रायोजित टीवी धारावाहिक “हम लोग” का प्रसारण शुरू किया।
