Gujarat, the state government has announced on Thursday, 7th January 2021 that the Gujarat state will have India’s first Lithium battery refinery. Bharat is the largest importer of Lithium-ion batteries. So It is a big move for India to tackle Chinese dominance in the Lithium market under the supervision of PM Narendra Modi.
There are lots of big companies in India that are investing over Rs 1,000 crore to set up this refinery in Gujarat state. This refinery facility will process Lithium ore to produce battery-grade Lithium.
So now India’s first Lithium refinery will help Lithium-ion battery manufacturing plants in Gujarat. This Lithium refinery will help make the state a hub for Lithium-ion batteries in India.

- Lithium is a rare element not usually found in Bharat, but Australia will fulfill this requirement as a raw material supplier.
- This refinery will secure the raw material supply for domestic manufacturing of Lithium batteries to promote electric vehicles in India.
- TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Gujarat Private Ltd is India’s first Lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant in Gujarat. This Lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant is expected to become operational by January or February 2021.
- Tata Group has also acquired land in Dholera Industrial City near Ahmedabad to set up a Rs 4000 crore Lithium-ion battery plant.
- The Adani Group is also planning to set up a Lithium battery manufacturing complex in Gujarat.
भारत की पहली लिथियम बैटरी रिफाइनरी कहाँ होगी?
गुजरात, राज्य सरकार ने गुरुवार, 7 जनवरी 2021 को घोषणा की है कि गुजरात राज्य में भारत की पहली लिथियम बैटरी रिफाइनरी होगी। भारत लिथियम आयन बैटरी का सबसे बड़ा आयातक है। इसलिए पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी की देखरेख में लिथियम बाजार में चीनी प्रभुत्व से निपटना भारत के लिए एक बड़ा कदम है।
भारत में बहुत सारी बड़ी कंपनियां हैं जो गुजरात राज्य में इस रिफाइनरी को स्थापित करने के लिए 1,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का निवेश कर रही हैं। यह रिफाइनरी सुविधा बैटरी-ग्रेड लिथियम का उत्पादन करने के लिए लिथियम अयस्क की प्रक्रिया करेगी।
इसलिए अब भारत की पहली लिथियम रिफाइनरी गुजरात में लिथियम-आयन बैटरी विनिर्माण संयंत्रों की मदद करेगी। यह लिथियम रिफाइनरी राज्य को भारत में लिथियम आयन बैटरी के लिए एक केंद्र बनाने में मदद करेगी।

- टाटा ग्रुप ने अहमदाबाद के पास धोलेरा इंडस्ट्रियल सिटी में 4000 करोड़ रुपये की लीथियम-आयन बैटरी प्लांट स्थापित करने के लिए भी भूमि का अधिग्रहण किया है।
- अडानी समूह गुजरात में लिथियम बैटरी विनिर्माण परिसर स्थापित करने की भी योजना बना रहा है।
