ISRO Demonstrates Free-Space Quantum Communication

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully tested free-space quantum communication, making it very safe to send messages now. ISRO has successfully tested free-space quantum communication (free-space quantum communication) within a radius of 300 meters.

What is Quantum cryptography?

It is also called ‘quantum cryptography in which the particles of light are mixed and sent in such a way that they cannot be hacked in any way. Through this test, ISRO has specialized in sender searching through light particles in a very safe way.

In this technology, video conferencing was done through the quantum-of-encrypted signal. With the help of this data, it helps a lot to keep the data secure. Traditional cryptosystems have data encryption based on mathematical algorithms, while Quantum Communication ensures data security based on the laws of physics.

Through the distribution of quantum, messages, photos or videos are sent into the light particle and sent from one place to another through special transmission, which only a receiver of this type can receive. ISRO has successfully tested free-space quantum communication.


भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (ISRO) ने फ्री-स्पेस क्वांटम कम्युनिकेशन का सफल परीक्षण किया है, जिससे अब संदेश भेजना बेहद सुरक्षित है. इसरो ने 300 मीटर के दायरे में फ्री स्पेस क्वांटम कम्युनिकेशन (Free-Space Quantum Communication) का सफल परीक्षण किया है.

What is क्वांटम क्रिप्टोग्राफी?

इसे ‘क्वांटम क्रिप्टोग्राफी’ भी कहा जाता है जिसमें संदेशों को प्रकाश कणों में तब्दील कर इस तरह सुरक्षित तरीके से भेजा जाता है कि इन्हें कोई हैक नहीं कर सकता. इस परीक्षण के जरिए इसरो ने एक तरह से प्रकाश कणों के जरिए संदेशों को बेहद सुरक्षित ढंग से भेजने में विशेषज्ञता प्राप्त कर ली है

इस टेक्नोलॉजी में क्वांटम-की-एनक्रिप्टेड सिग्नल के जरिये वीडियो कांफ्रेंसिंग की गई. इस टेक्नोलॉजी की मदद से सेटेलाइट डाटा कम्युनिकेशन अति सुरक्षित हो सकेगा. पारंपरिक क्रिप्टोसिस्टम में गणित के एल्गोरिदम के आधार पर डाटा एनक्रिप्शन होता है, जबकि क्वांटम कम्युनिकेशन में फिजिक्स के नियमों के आधार पर डाटा सिक्योरिटी सुनिश्चित होती है.

  • Quantum cryptography is also known as ‘future proof’, as any new system that is being developed in the field of computers in the future will not be able to break the quantum cryptosystem.
  • ISRO tests free-space quantum communication by upgrading indigenous technology-developed NAVIC receivers
  • American scientist David Wineland and Serge Hroch of France were awarded the Nobel Prize in the year 2012 for the discovery of quantum particles.

About Space Applications Centre (SAC) :

It is an institution of research under ISRO. Late Dr.Vikram Sarabhai established India’s first Experimental Satellite Communication Earth Station (ESCES) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
