Who made India’s first indigenous machine pistol ASMI?
Like other agencies, DRDO has also become stronger in the country for R&D and manufacturing of arms to fulfill the mission of self-reliant India (AatmNirbhar Bharat). DRDO stated that it has developed the country’s first indigenous machine pistol ASMI. It will now replace the 9mm pistol of the Pistol Defense Force.
The machine pistol can fire up to a distance of 100 meters and is of the Israeli Uzi series. During its development, 300 rounds were fired in the last four months.

भारत का पहला स्वदेशी मशीन पिस्टल ASMI किसने बनाया?
आत्मनिर्भर भारत के मिशन को पूरा करने में अन्य एजेंसियो की तरह DRDO भी देश में ही हथियारों के निर्माण को लेकर मजबूत हुई है। DRDO ने बताया कि इसने देश के पहले स्वदेशी मशीन पिस्टल ASMI को विकसित किया है। अब यह पिस्टल डिफेंस फोर्स के 9mm पिस्टल की जगह लेगी।
मशीन पिस्टल 100 मीटर की दूरी तक फायर कर सकती है और यह इजरायल के उजी सीरीज का है। इसके विकास के दौरान पिछले चार महीने में 300 राउंड की फायरिंग की गई।’
